Latest Updates from Our Project:

New Map Packs, Old Map Packs, Final Stretch Goal
10 months ago – Fri, May 16, 2025 at 10:12:30 AM

Hi everyone,

In the Add-Ons section, we just have a placeholder graphic for the Map Pack, so I wanted to talk about that today.

The new Map Pack contains 3 poster sized (36" x 24") maps. Vault of the Murderworm started with 2 maps, and the Scenic Sawtooth goal added a 3rd. If we unlock the final stretch goal, that will add two more maps, for a total of five maps.

If you back us at the DELUXE pledge level, you already get a map pack. Otherwise, they are available as add-ons.

There are maps in the book and the deluxe edition comes with larger maps, as well as zoomed-in map fragments per encounter. BUT... for those of you that don't want to draw the map as you play, or just love maps, the Poster Map Pack is a great choice. Additionally, the digital version is high enough resolution to use online.

We're working on getting together some early (NOT FINAL) art for the new map pack so you can gauge your interest. I've got one map from Bob so far, which Brett will be painting, but we're not quite ready to show them off just yet. Soon though!

We also have a few map packs left over from Evil Never Dies, if you missed out on that the first time. You can find them in the Add-ons section.

Thanks everyone for your support, we absolutely could not do it without each and every one of you... and with your help, we'll get through the final encounter as well and unlock The Wormfather's Apprentice. We're less than $200 away.

Speaking of... since we're so close to the goal, I figure I'll throw in another sneak peek. This is a shorter sequel adventure that follows Vault of the Murderworm. If we unlock the final stretch goal, it will be available as an Add-on in both print and digital formats. And (as mentioned above) it adds 2 more maps to the Map Pack.

Heroic Adventure! #2.1: THE WORMFATHER'S APPRENTICE

The Murderworm's threat may have passed, but something still festers in Sawtooth. When villagers begin disappearing, returning with bizarre behavior and bearing strange markings upon their skin, whispers spread of the Wormfather's final curse. As paranoia grips the town and neighbors suspect neighbors, the heroes must root out cultists hiding in plain sight, discover their underground temple beneath Sawtooth's sawblade river, and confront the apprentice before their summoning reaches completion on the coming solstice.

The newly-minted heroes of Sawtooth discover a splinter cult operating in the shadows, led by a mysterious figure who claims to be the Wormfather's apprentice.

Thank you everyone!

Chris

A note about the deluxe editions and the deluxe pledge level
10 months ago – Wed, May 14, 2025 at 08:01:44 AM

Hello everyone,

I talked a bit more about the Deluxe Editions in the previous (Evil Never Dies) campaign, but some of you are new (thank you) and I've gotten a couple questions about them, so here goes!

The Deluxe edition, in addition to being a really nice looking hardback, features some usability and accessibility enhancements like enlarged text, larger maps, more (and larger) art, and zoomed-in map fragments per encounter.

We don't have pics of the maps and book art yet (still in progress), but here's some art from the Evil Never Dies campaign that shows off the previous deluxe edition.

As someone with vision issues, I'm committed to making versions of the books that are usable by everyone.  PDFs are nice, but not everyone has (or wants) a computer at the game table, so these are a nice option that offer a good looking book that works well at the table.

The Vault of the Murderworm Deluxe pledge level comes with everything from the digital and standard pledge levels (i.e. book and maps PDFs and standard softcover book) AND the deluxe hardback edition, the poster map pack, a Vault of the Murderworm T-shirt and a set of dice of your choice (which you'll pick in the pledge manager). We do it that way just in case you don't want the Slitherbane dice. Also, if you want more than one set of dice, you can add them in the Add-ons.

The Slitherbane dice are really nice and come with a special magic item written by Bob Bronkman (thanks to all of you for hitting that stretch goal!!)

Hope this helps!

Also, we're still about $500 away from the FINAL stretch goal: The Wormfather's Apprentice.  If we hit this goal, it will unlock an entirely separate adventure playable as a sequel to Vault of the Murderworm. (Think of it as Heroic Adventure! #2.5.) This book will be available as an add-on to all pledge levels, but only if we hit the final goal.

What could it mean?

Greetings brave adventurers!

You've vanquished every challenge thrown at you so far and now you face the last encounter in the stretch goal dungeon.

As you cautiously make your way forward, you hear screams of agony ahead. Could it be the murderworm? Or something even more deadly?

Your rogue returns from ahead, shaken and muttering to himself, handing you a scrap of parchment that appears to be part of a map with a partial word scrawled on it. There's not quite enough to tell where the map leads, or what the word is, but you have a feeling it must be important.

Final Stretch Goal Clue #1: There may be more to this adventure than you suspected. Could there be another quest in your future? Does the story of the Wormfather continue on?

More information will be revealed, the closer you get to defeating the final encounter!
